Work Xmas Party 2006

This years Xmas party was good fun. It had a circus theme, so I decided to go with a clown's mask. There is, of course, no better clown than our esteemed foreign minister Alexander Downer. So, I obtained one of Alan Moir's cartoons and my dad printed it, mounted it on a sheet of polycarbonate attached to a piece of aluminum extrusion. I printed some speech bubbles with his various inanities including the classic "things that batter" remark and stuck them to the mask with a drawing board pin.

A disturbing number of unkind souls remarked that the caricature was a very good likeness - not of Downer - but of me!? Cads!

Zander got very drunk that evening. Myself, I remained sober, though I can't remember how.

Happy new year Jon, I hope 2007 brings you much laughter and joy!

I like the idea of using Downer as the clown, although explaining it to people during the night would have been a nuisance (it must have gone right past the severely limied intelligence of Management) :)

I've noticed the picture of you at the Christmas party and the picture in your profile are different - have you considered updating the profile image?

P.S. No, I'm not part of a Management circle - I can spell limited correctly, honestly :)

Happy New Year to you too, Avatar.

I'll consider updating my profile photo, but I do have strange attraction to the current one...not sure why.
